Nel Brace grew up and matriculated in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch, she taught in London for six years. She completed a Master’s degree at Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES) in the USA and now serves on the national staff of Ratio Christi South Africa. Through this work she strives to be a witness to those who do not know Christ and to be part of the resurgence of Christian thinking on university campuses and in the church at large. She is married to Simon Brace and they have 5 children – Eva, Olivia, Cai, Jannes and Ruben.

Karnu began his studies in 2013 where he spent his first year at the Africa School of Missions in Mpumalanga, hereafter he moved to Potchefstroom to complete the rest of his studies. He holds a Bth in Church planting, Hons BA in Theology and Masters in Theology (Missionary Apologetics) from the North West University Potchefstroom Campus. Potchefstroom. His Master’s thesis deals with the importance of logical argumentation and rational justification of belief in evangelism. Furthermore, he has served at the Potchefstroom chapter of Ratio Christi since 2014. As of 2023 he has now moved to Pretoria to assist in the mission of Ratio Christi.

Mathabo Baase grew up and matriculated in Klerksdorp, North-West province into a family that practiced Ancestralism. She earned her Bachelor of Arts’ degree in Law and Psychology; Bachelor of Laws degree and Masters in Comparative Child Law degree from the North-West University (NWU) in Potchefstroom, South-Africa. At the NWU Mathabo served as chapter president of Ratio Christi. She also served as a group facilitator & mentor at Dokima, the teen ministry division of Duet Gemeente and in various other teen-leadership development programs. Upon graduating from NWU she went on to obtain a Certificate in Theology and Apologetics from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA) and Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford. She is currently a Private law lecturer and PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Gerdo Breytenbach is a data engineer working for a startup in Stellenbosch. He recently completed his PhD in engineering, particularly towards improving the capability of real-time sports broadcasting technology. He has published and reviewed for international journals as well as given guest lectures on AI. After attending the Wilberforce Academy, Gerdo was inspired by the faith of its participants, which, together with his own passion for the local church, led to his involvement and growth through Ratio Christi.

Jessica is born-and-raised in Johannesburg, with a heart for the gospel and a passion for community impact. She holds a BA in Psychology and Political Science and completed her Honours in International Relations at Wits. She works as a researcher and organiser for an NGO, contributing to policy research and grassroots mobilisation. Her journey into apologetics began through Ratio Christi, where she recognised the importance of thoughtful faith engagement on campus. Since then, she has worked alongside Dr. Andre van Zyl to help establish chapters at UJ and Wits, equipping students to engage faith with confidence and clarity.

Karin Moore was born and raised in the Free State and moved to KwaZulu-Natal in her later years. She is married to Gary and they are blessed with three beautiful daughters, Cherise, Shané and Kelly, who are all grown up now and busy with their studies and careers.
Karin spent 20 years working in procurement with Meadow Feeds, Astral Foods / Provimi BV, gaining valuable experience in the corporate business and international environment. Karin then spent a further 10 years as Administrator at North Baptist Church in Pietermaritzburg, where she was involved in the administration and day-to-day running of the church. They are now happily settled in Umhlanga, and Karin is a valuable part of the Ratio Christi team.
